Driven Beyond His Years: Business, Swimming & Big Goals

Hudson returns to the Love the North podcast one year after his first appearance, and a lot has changed.

Now heading into Grade 11, Hudson continues to operate **Lakeside Lures**, making and supplying fishing jigs to local retailers, trading posts and lodges while balancing school and an increasingly demanding competitive swimming schedule.

In the pool, his results are starting to turn heads. Hudson qualified for the Ontario Swimming Championships in eight events, competed in six and earned three top-10 finishes. He also won two SwimRun races and placed third in Ontario’s provincial 3K open-water race.
The conversation looks at the discipline required to balance business, academics and high-level sport, along with Hudson’s next goal: continuing to improve his times and grades while exploring opportunities to attend college and compete in swimming in the United States.

It’s a great Northern Ontario story about ambition, hard work and a young person already thinking seriously about where he wants to go next.
